Tinie Tempah Beef With Michael Daapah
The Complete History Of Tinie Tempah And Chip's Rap Beef
Since Chip made his feud with Tinie Tempah public in January 2015, there have been a variety of brutal disses back and forth. In case you can't keep up, here's what's gone down (so far).
-
1. There have been conflicting rumours over how the feud began...
Tinie allegedly started the feud when he subliminally dissed Chip in January 2014. During a freestyle he said: "Rappers get a bunch of fame and then embarrass themselves/ They hire a bunch of managers, can't even manage themselves" and added: "Left the Pizza Boys who thought I wouldn't deliver again/ You say you're going to be around, let's see who is in the end." The lyrics were a possible reference to Chip's past Sony record deal and his 'Pizza Boy' collaboration with Meek Mill. Picture: Getty

2. And Chip waited almost exactly one year to respond.
After returning from his short-lived Hustle Gang affiliation with T.I. in the US, Chip returned with a point to prove. He was clearly agitated about Tinie's apparent diss and took out his frustrations live on the radio in January 2015. He shocked everyone by dissecting Tinie Tempah's freestyle line by line and said that Tinie was disrespecting every UK artist without a major label record deal. Picture: Instagram

3. Tinie Tempah responded by imitating the iconic 'Kermit Sipping Tea' meme.
With the world waiting to see how Tinie would respond to Chip's shock diss, the rapper posted an image of himself sipping tea on his roof - mimicking a popular Kermit The Frog meme. Picture: Instagram
-
4. Chip then accused Tinie of being a "coward" on Manny Norte's Capital XTRA radio show.
Chip visited The Norte Show and delivered a vicious freestyle aimed at Tinie, with lyrics such as "You n*ggas can't get rid of me/ Its Pizza Boy and trust me I've got a delivery/ I've got slices for superstars and their egos/ and slices for new rappers looking through the peep hole". He also referred to Tinie as a "coward".
-
5. But things didn't go as he expected...
With many artists and DJs jumping to the defence of Tinie Tempah with diss tracks and more, Chip fired back with a brutal diss track called 'Pepper Riddim' - aimed at a number of Tinie's apparent supporters. "Why you breading man that don't bring you?/ you better mind what you get yourself into," he rapped.
-
6. Tinie then said Chip was "jealous" of his success.
After keeping very quiet about the situation, Tinie Tempah finally fired back at Chip with a song called 'Peak' featuring Stormzy and Bugzy Malone. Over a Grime beat, he rapped: "Rudeboy you haven't got a part in the legacy/ you ain't a star because you're heart's full of jealousy/ pagan mandem, tell Sloth that I don't rate them mandem/ Satan brang them."
-
7. And stopped by DJ Charlsey's Capital XTRA show to elaborate.
Tinie Tempah spoke out about the 'beef' on Capital XTRA - suggesting that Chip had started the rap feud to bring attention to his EP 'Believe And Achieve Vol 1.' He said: "I just thought it was funny how all this stuff happened and then there was stuff coming out, it's just a bit strange to me."
-
8. But Chip insisted that he didn't understand why Tinie dissed him.
After becoming embroiled in another long-running rap battle with Manchester's Bugzy Malone, Chip readdressed his feud with Tinie on a song called '96 Bars Of Revenge'. He resurfaced JME's classic Grime instrumental to send more disses. He rapped: "He mentioned Pizza Boy, I still don't understand why he did it/ He doesn't want lyrics for lyrics/ Deep down he's more Wifey Riddim".
-
9. Tinie Tempah then mocked Chip about losing his record deal with Sony.
Tinie gave fans a preview of new music from his mixtape in October 2015. In the song featuring Stormzy, he mocked Chip about losing his major label record deal. He rapped: "Ask Sony why they dropped the potato.... If them man are pagans, then I got a halo/ Better than me? go and then say so/ you ain't Dizzee or Will or Kano."
-
10. And Chip wasted no time in calling him a "coward".
After hearing Tinie's diss, Chip fired back in less than 24 hours! He surprised fans by premiering the song outside of his own show and even invited them to be in the video. "In your book you said how I inspired you like Dizzee or Kano/ And now its 2015 I'm Mr Potato? No Dizzee or Kano?" he rapped.
-
11. But Tinie laughed off Chip's diss tracks and thanked him for helping him get No. 1s!
During an interview, Tinie said that the situation was very "entertaining," adding; "[Chip is] doing so much promo for me, every time he says my name I'm getting No. 1s!" Picture: Instagram

12. Chip then resurfaced Tinie Tempah's autobiography...
Not satisfied with his own scathing diss track, Chip also took a picture of a page from Tinie's autobiography in which he was mentioned. In the extract, Tinie wrote about how Chip had brought him on tour in 2011 and how they had celebrated his first No.1 single together when 'Pass Out' was released. Picture: Twitter

13. And demanded a lyrical clash with Tinie.
Whilst addressing his other long-running rap feud with Manchester MC Bugzy Malone, Chip demanded a lyrical clash with Tinie on a song called 'Duppy Riddim'. He rapped: "Man want to clash, what's the price?/ But I want you and [Tinie Tempah]". Picture: Instagram
-
14. But Tinie remained quiet while he finished his 'Junkfood' mixtape.
With everyone waiting to see how Tinie Tempah would respond to Chip's invitation to clash, the 'Not Letting Go' rapper appeared to be focussed on finishing up his new mixtape - which features many UK Rap and Grime stars. Picture: Instagram
-
15. Then asked Chip to support the project.
Tinie Tempah reignited the feud by sending a tweet to Chip, asking the rapper to retweet and support his new 'Junkfood' mixtape. However Chip quickly responded by asking Tinie to retweet his diss track 'Coward'.
-
16. But Chip criticised Tinie for working with underground artists after "dissing" them.
Following the release of Tinie's 'Junkfood' mixtape, Chip fired back with another diss track - aimed at Tinie's choice of collaborations. "Now you want to work with the underground/ the same n*ggas that you dissed fam/ I'll teach you about Junkfood," he rapped. He also criticised Tinie's reaction to Kanye West bringing out UK artists during his 2015 BRITs performance. At the time, Tinie said he hoped Kanye bought them free Yeezys.
-
17. Tinie Tempah then appeared to support Yungen's diss track for Chip.
Despite remaining quiet about his feud with Chip, Tinie popped up in the video for Yungen's diss track for Chip called 'Punk' - appearing to support the song. However Chip fired back with another diss track which mentioned Tinie: "Patrick what have you done? When I brought you on tour, your mum said thank you for bringing my son."
